As one of our apprentice program students you must log in to attend classes and participate  weekly for required assignments and exams but are able to attend on your own schedule! That's right, you are able to attend when you have time during the week, our classes operate 24/7.

Advantages of Online?

There are many advantages but first let us say that we know online isn't for everyone, but we can also say that the classroom isn't for everyone either. Okay, we are "upfront" about our program. The advantages to online are many:

  • No travel
    • No miles to travel.
    • No time spent traveling.
  • No scheduled time to be somewhere
    • This doesn't mean that you are not responsible to log in to attend your class, it means that you attend your class each week when you have the opening in your schedule. Be it 4:00am or 10:00pm as long as you meet the weekly requirements you can set your own schedule.
  • Experienced instructors
  • Collaborative course environment
    • Learning environment that is very conducive for students of all levels.

Can I be a successful online student?

Most of our students are not regular users of the Internet but it does not stop them from learning online. There are several benefits to becoming familiar with working on the Internet.

  1. Taking education online allows you to continue with your life and schedule your education when you have time during the week. You get the required training on your schedule allowing it to fit around your lifestyle.
  2. One of the overlooked advantages of getting your education online is allowing you to be more familiar and comfortable with the unique Internet environment.  The HVACR industry is going to the web more and more; manufacturers, suppliers, contractors, employers. So, becoming familiar with the web will be a significant improvement of your work skills.

How does this work?

The best way to describe how it works is to direct you to a "sample course" on our website. Click here.  You will see all of the features of one module of an online course. We recommend that you log into your course at a minimum of 4-5 times per week to keep pace with the activities and assignments. The asynchronous environment means that you don’t have to be “logged” onto the computer at any specific time or place allowing you flexibility to work for your employer and satisfy your family and other commitments.

Who are the Instructors?

Our faculty is a group of HVAC educators and or senior technicians from all over the United States and Canada. They have all completed our faculty-training program and have taught HVAC students online for a year or more. The average time in the HVAC occupation for our faculty is 25 years. Click Here to see us.

The Curriculum:
The online content is an arrangement of classes that meet or exceed the requirements of the State Board and will include:

  • Textbook reading assignments
  • Streamed video
  • Animations
  • Web presentations
  • Inline quizzes
  • Module exams
  • Final exams
  • Work based exercises
  • Web link assignments
  • Threaded discussion (Conference Discussion)
    • Online conversation between students and instructor
    • Discussion participation is required

The estimated study time per week during the run of the course is 5 to 6 hours for 8 months for each year. This is a “asynchronous” learning program meaning that the students and instructors do not have to be online at the same time but there is a constant level of communication and participation through a “discussion environment” in the online class. Students and faculty have an ongoing conversation on the current course topics. Students are required to participate in these discussions as you would participate in the face-to-face classroom.

Student satisfaction?

HVACReducation.net has provided courses to thousands of students in the United States and other parts of the world. All students are required to complete a student survey upon completion of their course. Our student’s average course rating is at a “4” on a scale of 0 (lowest) to 5 (highest). Our students rate us a “Very Good” overall.

What if I don’t have access to the Web?

Most, if not all public libraries have online computers available for anyone to use. If that isn’t an option, your employer may provide access or a local school may provide public access to their computer labs.
