We are pleased to have as one of our online faculty, Chris Hickman. He has been active in the HVACR industry for over 28 years. Chris started out learning about the industry in the U.S. Navy. There he learned about boilers, pumps, heating, and air conditioning. He spent over 21 years in Active and Reserve service and retired from the military in 1999. After leaving Active duty, he worked for the Department of Commerce as a Mechanical Engineering Technician (HVACR) for over nine years. There he was involved with design, repairs, and installation of Commercial HVACR systems.
Currently, Chris is working for a school district servicing over 100 different buildings. His job title is Building Automation Control Specialist. He is currently the Tridium Systems' Administrator, which involves installing upgraded HVAC equipment and managing the latest in DDC Internet based controls. Chris has taken many training courses in DMS, LonWorks, and Tridium for Programmers.
Chris is a member of the Technical Communication Society and RSES. He has the EPA Universal Certification and is a licensed HVAC Technician by the Regional Building Department. Chris has developed and implemented preventative maintenance and training programs for various industries. He also has a B.S in Workforce Education and Development from Southern Illinois University.
