We are pleased to have as one of our online faculty, Bill Smith. He has been active in the HVACR industry for 42 years. Bill started as an operator of unlimited tonnage ammonia systems in New York City. He then moved to Connecticut and worked there as a technician and contractor in the commercial and industrial areas for a total of 15 years.

After becoming an accomplished technician he worked as Service Manager for the local Carrier distributor, which led to 15 more years in wholesale distribution for 4 other heating, air conditioning and refrigeration distributors. During that time, Bill did technical training, branch management, outside sales and sales management. During those 30 years, Bill has been exposed to most of the major manufacturers of heating, cooling and refrigeration equipment.

An opportunity arose to go back to technical support and training at the manufacturing level. He has been working in that capacity for the last 12 years for Rheem Air Conditioning.

Bill is a CM member of RSES, and holds the Installation and Service Certifications in all five NATE categories. He also sits on the NATE Technical Advisory Committee. Bill is also a contractor (License #HTG.307985) in Connecticut, although he does not actively work in the contracting sector.
